These monochromators are configurable for various Bragg reflections (e.g., Si(111), Si(220), Si(311)), enabling accurate wavelength selection. The silicon crystals are precisely mounted and aligned to ensure optimal energy resolution and beam intensity.
The mechanical system is designed for highly stable and reproducible positioning of the silicon wafer stacks. Each stack can be bent with high precision using a dedicated motorized actuator. In addition, another motor drives a finely machined cam shaft, which enables synchronized tilting of all wafer stacks through a single coordinated motion. This dual-actuation mechanism ensures consistent curvature and alignment across the entire monochromator assembly, resulting in uniform performance and optimal beam characteristics.
